Event Description

The combined talents of our members, both as artists and as connoisseurs, make this show a “must see” event.

Along with our talented members, this year’s show will also be showcasing two remarkable artists.  On display in the Member’s Gallery, will be, TOO: An Orientation of Spirit, A Melody Croft collection. Melody Croft is a self-taught artist whose narrative paintings connect with human emotions. Her paintings focus on people and their stories to look inside of what appears to be seen.  The common thread in her work is humanity.  Unlike the lens of a camera that objectively documents a moment in time and space, her lens subjectively observes and comments on the psychological, sociological, and emotional complexities of race, gender, age, and culture.

On the way to the main gallery, visitors will also be greeted by the work of Margaret Warfield. BEHOLD. BECOME. BEYOND is a  journey into her  world of creating art since the early 1980’s. Initially the subject matter reflected images reminiscent of  her childhood, i.e., landscapes of the hills of Tennessee. Over the years, she has painted women engaged in daily activities and dance using  acrylic paints because of the  ease of covering a surface quickly with vibrant opaque colors.
